Taking care of 3 pneumonia patients and 3 immunocompromised oncology patients all week was really the cherry on top of this nasty upper respiratory infection I’ve been fighting.

The funny thing about nursing is… We bust our asses, rain or shine, to make other people feel better, even when we feel like we’ve been hit by a bus ourselves. To my patients I am not just a nurse, I am their waitress, pharmacist, friend, confidante, drug giver, drug withholder, chef, medical dictionary… The list goes on and on. It’s one of the hardest jobs in the world, and at the end of the day, coming home, it feels weird not having someone here to take care of me.

*cough*
